A crushing wave of fatigue hit me this morning (helped no doubt by the necessity of an Imigran and 2 Zydols for a breakthrough migraine (in addition to my usual morning cocktail including 1 Gravol and 10 mg Morphgesic SR), and I’ve been able to just lie in bed, flat on my back, and work on the Seaspray Shawl. Spock draped himself over my abdomen (which, coincidentally, was in need of a heat pack). He didn’t move for hours, and he increased his mass, so I had to ask DH to put the next episode of Grey’s Anatomy on every 45 minutes or so for me because I couldn’t sit up to do it myself.
Oh, I suppose in an emergency I could have disturbed both of us and shoved him off, but really, when for once I feel so relaxed and contented that I can get some real work done, who wants to disturb that kind of tranquility?
But in order to do this blog post, I finally moved Spock a few minutes ago and tottered into a sitting position on the edge of the bed. The drugs have made me very woozy today. We’re going to watch Atonement next, which has the dual purpose of being a great film, and not necessitating getting up to advance the movie every 45 minutes unless it needs to be paused in order to answer the call of nature.
Here’s a picture of the progress made on the Seaspray Shawl as of 7 February.
I was thinking today I might like to insert a twist tie into one of the end stitches, so it can serve as a progress marker. When you’re knitting something as large as this (about 250 stitches per row on 6mm needles), it’s often hard to judge whether any progress is being made.
